"OLD SAINT FRANCIS"
RENWICK'S HISTORIC CHURCH
Serving the Renwick Community since 1907
St Francis de Sales Church served the Renwick (Marlborough, New Zealand) community as place of Catholic worship from 1907 until June 2023 when it was officially 'deconsecrated'. It still serves as a welcoming, historic venue for events such as weddings, funerals and meetings of many types.
WHAT WE DO

SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Whether it is a baptism, wedding or funeral, St Francis de Sales offers a special church venue for your special occasion. Quaint, tranquil and intimate, 'Old Saint Francis' has hosted Christian gatherings for well over 100 years. Nestled in the heart of Marlborough's wine region and less than 10 minutes drive from Blenheim, it is an ideal location for wedding ceremonies with up to 100 guests.

HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT
St Francis de Sales has stood on the same plot of land in the town of Renwick since it was established in 1907. The land was donated by the town's founder Dr Thomas Renwick and several local families funded the building. While it was deconsecrated in 2023, this has allowed the building to now be used as a host venue for a range of events and occasions.
